Named after one kid. Built for all of them.
PHILIPS is named for Philip, the founder's younger brother, who is autistic and does not use words. Growing up, there were plenty of places that would treat Philip. There were almost none where he could simply be welcomed.
That changed one summer at a Korean community camp, where for the first time our family felt no need to explain or apologize. PHILIPS was founded in 2018 to give other families that same feeling, every week instead of once a year.
Since then we have run in-person programs, an annual Autism Awareness Symposium, and training workshops for volunteers and families. In 2026 we brought PHILIPS to Korea, where stigma still delays support for many children like Philip.
“Joy is not a bonus. For a kid who is always being corrected, it is the whole point.”
David Kang, founder
